The bypass takes US 11 US 15 traffic out of the town of Selinsgrove from where US 522 s northern terminus is also located and was built in the 1970 s The northern terminus is dead exit with the roadway heading north of the US 11 US 15 US 522 junction into an open field as pictured above Traffic counts on Route 15 and Route 405 appear to show that CSVT has removed north south through traffic from both Lewisburg Borough in Union County and Northumberland Borough in Northumberland County To read the press release issued by PennDOT with more details of the recent traffic counts click here

The bypass project will include a four lanehighway 10 new bridges two roundabouts at Airport Mill and App roads a jug handle near the green bridge in Selinsgrove and plenty of earth moving The completed thruway will connect Routes 11 15 near Selinsgrove in Snyder County to Route 147 in Northumberland County re routing much of the heavy traffic from the Strip in Monroe Township
When completed the thruway will connect the north end of the state Route 11 15 Selinsgrove bypass with Route 147 on the east side of the river near Montandon It will provide a bypass The next steps to be completed will be CSVT s Southern Section which will connect Route 15 and CSVT s Northern Section south of Winfield to Routes 11 15 north of Selinsgrove This section is currently under final design Construction is set to begin in 2022 and should be complete by 2027
