I was dealing with severe lag using Google Maps or Waze Apple Maps worked fine and what worked for me was to activate the split screen mode in my car s settings My car and many other recent Hyundais and Kias have the ability to display Carplay across the full length of the screen but turning on the split screen setting where Carplay Google Maps blank screen in CarPlay since iOS 17 When I use my wired carplay connection in my VW and only since the version ios 17 0 was downloaded Google maps starts up blank and remains blank Haven t had this issue before and it only happens in Google maps all other Navigation apps are OK
